    Robust transitivity for endomorphisms admitting critical points

    We address the problem of giving necessary and sufficient conditions in order to have robustly transitive endomorphisms admitting persistent critical sets. We exhibit different type of open examples of robustly transitive maps in any isotopic class of endomorphisms acting on the two dimensional torus admitting persistent critical points.     Virtualisation of the test environment for signalling

    ERTMS is a well-known, well-performing technology applied all over the world but it still lacks flexibility when it comes to authorisation and certification procedures. The key of its success in the future lies as much in cost reduction as in simplification of placing in service procedures. This holds true for the implementation of a new subsystem and even more so for new software releases related to subsystems already in service. Currently the placing in service process of ETCS components and subsystems requires a large amount of tests due to the complexity of the signalling systems and the different engineering rules applied. The S2R Multi-Annual Action Plan states that the effort and time consumption of these onsite tests are at least 30% for any particular project. VITE research project (VIrtualisation of the Test Environment) aims at reducing these onsite tests to a minimum while ensuring that laboratory tests can serve as evidence for valid system behaviour and are accepted by all stakeholders involved in the placing in service process.     Web apps and imprecise probabilities

    We propose a model for the behaviour of Web apps in the unreliable WWW. Web apps are described by orchestrations. An orchestration mimics the personal use of the Web by defining the way in which Web services are invoked. The WWW is unreliable as poorly maintained Web sites are prone to fail. We model this source of unreliability trough a probabilistic approach. We assume that each site has a probability to fail. Another source of uncertainty is the traffic congestion. This can be observed as a non-deterministic behaviour induced by the variability in the response times. We model non-determinism by imprecise probabilities. We develop here an ex-ante normal to characterize the behaviour of finite orchestrations in the unreliable Web. We show the existence of a normal form under such semantics for orchestrations using asymmetric parallelism.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft

    Plenoptic projection fluorescence tomography

    A new method to obtain the three-dimensional localization of fluorochrome distributions in micrometric samples is presented. It uses a microlens array coupled to the image port of a standard microscope to obtain tomographic data by a filtered back-projection algorithm. Scanning of the microlens array is proposed to obtain a dense data set for reconstruction. Simulation and experimental results are shown and the implications of this approach in fast 3D imaging are discussed.This work was supported by the Spanish MINECO grant DPI2012-32994.
